Dr. Ryan Schirmer is a native Oregonian growing up on a peppermint farm just south of Salem. He graduated from Cascade High School in Turner. After high school Dr. Schirmer went to Oregon State University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Midway through his college education Dr. Schirmer enlisted in the United States Army as an indirect fire Infantryman. During this service Dr. Schirmer suffered a low back injury and was unable to stand straight up for months. It was during this time the Dr. Schirmer sought chiropractic treatment. This treatment greatly improved his condition. This injury and subsequent treatment lit a fire in Dr. Schirmer to become a chiropractor so that he too could help as many people as possible. After being medically retired from the Army Dr. Schirmer attended the University of Western States in Portland Oregon graduating with a Bachelors in Human Biology as well as a Doctorate of Chiropractic. These experiences have allowed Dr. Schirmer to see many different sides of people. All of these experiences have allowed Dr. Schirmer to not only be able to treat pain but to understand what it is like to suffer an injury and live with chronic pain.
Dr. Schirmer is happily married to his wife (and rock) Erin, they are blessed with Four beautiful children (Emma, Red, Eli, and Rory). When Dr. Schirmer isn’t working he loves to do all sorts of outdoor activities with his family. Some of their favorite activities are fishing, hiking, assorted church functions, and cheering on the Oregon State Beavers in anything they are playing.
